Stop the Genocide in Darfur

Susan Rice Appointed Ambassador to the U.N.

Obama's pick for ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, has worked on African issues for the Clinton administration and the Brookings Institution. During her confirmation hearing, she called it "unacceptable" that the international peacekeeping force in Darfur is at only half its authorized strength, but suggested that the cost of a U.S. mission to the region would be prohibitive.
