Real Medicare reform should give seniors more choices - not more government. After paying into the system for over three decades, they should be able to use Medicare's limited funds to select the type of coverage that is right for their individual circumstances.
No matter how it is accomplished, I can only hope that Social Security is here for my children and grand children when they become old enough to benefit from it. I hope that the government is able to keep the Medicare program going as well since so many of us rely on it. I do have a question concerning Medicare though. Does it only work here in the US? For example, if I plan to travel out of the country for an extended period of time should I look into getting medical travel insurance or would Medicare provide for me even when I am not in the US? I cannot seem to find an answer to this question anywhere and hope somebody here could offer a solution.
